Awake is a volunteer-run organization and we have a number of open volunteer opportunities for people willing to give their time and passion to Awake’s mission. We will list our volunteer needs on this page, but please also let us know if you have other skills to give or areas of interest.
Community News Committee
We are looking for Berwyn and Cicero residents who are interested in working to expand media programming and access to reliable, local news in Spanish and English. We will convene a virtual meeting in early 2021.
Fundraising Team
We are looking for volunteers to help with short-term and long-term fundraising efforts.
Grant Research

Grant Writing
Good fit: Volunteers with strong writing skills who want to learn about the grant writing process.
Donor Stewardship
Good fit: Volunteers who are good with people and enjoy making thank you calls and sending thank you cards.

Good fit: Volunteers who like working as part of a team to plan, implement and promote fundraising events.
Communications
Good fit: Volunteers who like to create newsletters, social media posts, and report summaries. We’d love to find someone with graphic design skills!
